Yiran Jia is a freelance illustrator and printmaker. After graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design, she’s been focusing on creating book illustrations and medical illustrations. She works both traditionally and digitally. She always plays around with strong, dramatic compositions to achieve spooky, uncanny effects in her images.

Yiran’s illustration style blends the elements of wood engraving, 70s French Sci-fi Comics and propaganda posters. The gritty, dark and underground quality are rooted in her illustrations since she has been designing posters and band merch for extreme music for years. Also, she keeps exploring new possibilities for her illustration content by expanding interests and developing skills and forms.
