Trish Goodbody chose to work in glass because of its wonderful colours and luminosity.  She lives in West Cork, Ireland, where she has been working in glass since 2008. Her practice is based on her enjoyment of the process of creating pieces that are pleasing to the eye and visually intriguing.

She has her own small glass studio among some of the most beautiful and rugged scenery of the Atlantic coast of Ireland, and it's this - and the ever-changing light of the area - that inspires her work.

Her glass journey began by attending a number of workshops and taking inspiration from exhibitions, books, other artists' work and researching different techniques. Otherwise, she is self-taught, ultimately gaining knowledge from practice, experimentation and trial-and-error. Firstly, she concentrated on jewellery, working mostly with sheet and dichroic glass, from there she started to explore glass powders. Now working predominantly with powders she continues to be captivated by their wonderful versatility and possibilities.
