STÉPHANIE LANGARD
“FORMS OF REVERENCE”
2026
Stephanie Langard is a French sculptor working primarily with ceramics. Her practice explores presence through form, silence, breath, and verticality, engaging with both organic and figurative languages. Her work moves between body, landscape, and material memory, questioning states of stillness and attention. She lives and works in Paris, France.
"My work explores presence in the face of emotional forces that exceed us. I sculpt grounded, held forms, often vertical, which evoke bodies without being limited to the human. I draw inspiration from the strength of the living world: from a tree that struggles to grow, finds its way toward the light, or from a rock shaped by constraint and time. I do not seek to represent, but to make presence perceptible — the kind that remains when words, gestures, or narratives are no longer sufficient. My sculptures are forms of reverence toward this presence: a way of staying and holding, despite everything."
