SIGRID LUITSALU

“FORMS OF REVERENCE”
2026

Sigrid Luitsalu is an Estonian glass artist and designer whose work explores the relationship between material, nature, and inner experience. Her creative practice is shaped by a multidisciplinary background that includes studies in philosophy and Asian studies. In 2016, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Glass Art at the Estonian Academy of Arts.

As an artist, Luitsalu is interested in the patterns of both nature and the self. She draws inspiration from the continual transformation and growth of nature's living forms and one's inner world.

Her glass practice is characterised by an experimental and meditative approach to materials and technique. Through form, texture, and light, her work often reflects a balance between fragility and strength, stillness and movement, inviting quiet contemplation.

Since establishing her own studio in 2020, Luitsalu has exhibited internationally, including at events such as Venice Glass Week and Milan Design Week, and has participated in group exhibitions across Europe and the United States. Alongside her artistic practice, she is engaged in teaching and creative mentoring.

"Sigrid Luitsalu is a glass artist and designer who creates unique pieces with care and curiosity, bringing beauty and joy into everyday life. Her practice is guided by the belief that everyday realism is also everyday magic. Through making, she searches for quiet moments of reflection, exploring the stories held in ordinary objects and the shifts of thought and feeling that shape our experience.

The dual nature of glass inspires her work, allowing her to explore contrasts of fragility and strength, transparency and depth. She responds to the way the material moves, letting intuition and observation shape each piece. The finished forms balance stillness and playfulness, inviting calm, curiosity, and a renewed awareness of the everyday."
