Shu Wang is a jewelry and accessory designer born in China, and currently located in the United States. She was initially majored in Nonmetallic Inorganic Material Engineering at University of Science and Technology Beijing. She transferred to Jewelry and Metal Design at Rochester Institute of Technology in 2017. She is good at using mixed materials and integration of modeling programs and 3D printing into jewelry. Her past experience encourages her to transform ideas and inspirations geometrically. She is currently pursuing a master degree of Fashion, Body and Garments at School of Art Institute of Chicago for keeping exploring on the relationship between jewelry, body and fashion.

Designing jewelry has became a way of expressing my feelings, my attitude and my style. Most of my designs started from my reaction, emotion and expectation. My background has deeply impacted my way of designing. I studied in material engineering when I entered college, which does encourage me to use mixed materials and geometric language a lot in my design. Minored in Photography helped me understand how to tell a story through images and my works.

My works are also deeply involved with fashion. I love experimenting on ways of interacting between jewelry, body-scale sculpture, accessories and fashion. There is no border between fashion and art for me when it comes to design jewelry. I consider body as canvas where jewelry existed on as the pigment, and garment for me is larger scale jewelry for body.  I love learning different things and the experience of learning can always expands my understanding on art and design. I have learned that there is no limits, but possibilities.
