OSIAN EFNISIEN

Cluster Contemporary Jewellery Exhibitor 2022

Dark Power Fair

Osian has since worked commercially as an illustrator and designer, his work exploring the boundaries between the fine arts, fashion, animation and design through bold, playful, often experimental works, rich in absurdist narratives/dialogues which delight in their own irreverent and oblique tendencies.

Pharmageddon

Osian Efnisien is an UK based visual artist and designer. He studied fine art and later design practice at university before quietly exploding on to the early UK street art scene, producing whimsically nonsensical digital/analog advertising campaigns, and performing random guerilla street installations on a suspecting public.

Intimate Geology

Projects range from character based augmented reality experiences, such as 2022’s “the inner light” to writing for and recording voice overs for Hermes bag adverts.

Osian has talked about and exhibited his work internationally and has collaborated on several award winning short films/animations. He is currently chasing colour, shape, form and meaning through the applied arts.

Small Pharma

In this series the artist has created soft sculptural assemblages of juxtaposing and conflicting objects, concepts, and thoughts, presenting them as intimately wearable, and unwearable, analog statements. “rings” with a view to test and explore notions of purpose, utility, value and meaning within contemporary Jewellery.

The artist uses gems, crystals, medicinal drugs, select objects, coal, wool and polyester fibers to construct permanent and semi permanent sculptural pieces. Playfully abandoning concepts of wearability and permanence, rejecting past/ current forms and styles, the artist discerns (aesthetically) by reference to shape, colour, form and texture alone. layer by layer building gems and meanings in to, and wrapping them within, layers of coal, humour, plastic, crystals, select objects and pharmaceuticals,  provoking “intimate geologies” to be worn/not worn, contemplated and explored.
