Myrto Klimi is a Greek artist and architect based in Vienna. Trained in architecture in Greece, Germany and the Netherlands, she turned to jewellery during her Master's studies at TU Delft while searching for a more immediate and tactile way of making. What began as an experimental exploration developed into an independent artistic practice alongside her work as an architect. Working primarily in sterling silver, Klimi creates sculptural jewellery through direct interaction between body and material before refining each piece through casting and craftsmanship. Her work explores embodiment, touch and the relationship between object and wearer.

I start by trying to lose control. The first stages of making could almost be done blindfolded, allowing pressure, movement and touch to guide the material before conscious judgement takes over. The body is not treated as a motif to be represented but as an active participant in the formation of the work. What remains in the finished piece is not an image of touch but its consequence. During casting, polishing and refinement, I abstract those first gestures until the work no longer belongs to me. Jewellery allows a bodily experience to continue beyond the moment that produced it, becoming complete only when someone else wears it and forms their own relationship with it.
