MORVARID ALAVIFARD
10 YEARS CLUSTER CRAFTS “MATERIAL MEMORY”
2026
Morvarid Alavifard is an Iranian multidisciplinary metal artist based in the UK, working primarily with silversmithing to explore material value, touch, and embodied experience. Her practice reflects on lived experience and identity, using precious metal to question conventional ideas of worth and to create objects that invite tactile and sensory engagement. She completed her MA in Jewellery and Metal at the Royal College of Art in 2022, supported by the Behrens Foundation Bursary, and has since developed her practice through residencies and awards including the Silvers Fellowship at Yorkshire Artspace.
She has exhibited nationally and internationally and continues to expand her practice through research-led making and material experimentation. Alongside her inclusion in Cluster’s 10-year Crafts celebration, she will also be exhibiting in the upcoming ANNEAL showcase, highlighting her ongoing engagement with contemporary silversmithing and critical material practice.
