After completing her BA in Tokyo, she took a bold step and moved to the UK to pursue an MA in Photography, despite having studied a completely different field in her undergraduate years. This transition marked a significant turning point in her career, allowing her to experiment with new techniques and ideas. Madoka is particularly intrigued by the intersection of photography and painting, often blending the two mediums to create unique artistic expressions. Her work reflects a constant exploration of visual narratives, identity, and the relationship between fine art and photography. Through her lens, she captures not only images but also emotions and stories, creating visual compositions that challenge the conventional boundaries of photography.

“My artwork focuses on constructed photography, primarily in portraits within fine art and fashion.
My current ongoing series revolves around the concept of recreating classic paintings through photography, infused with my own ideas and a modern twist. I approach each piece with the goal of blending historical art with contemporary perspectives, adding layers of personal interpretation. By taking on the role of both photographer and art director, I aim to convey emotions and inner feelings that resonate on a deeper level.”

“Through careful composition, lighting, and styling, I transform traditional imagery into modern visual narratives, reflecting both timeless themes and the complexities of the present. This process is not only an homage to the original artworks but also an exploration of how art evolves and speaks across time.”
