ISABELLA ANNE KELLEY
CLUSTER CRAFTS : “ANNEAL” EXHIBITOR
2026
ARTWORK FOR PURCHASE AVAILABLE SOON
Isabella Anne Kelley, maker of silverware and jewellery, is distinguished by a fascination with the logic of pattern and the rhythm of making, where mathematical thinking meets traditional silversmithing techniques.
Her Yorkshire based practice explores the relationship between architecture, geometry, and historical pattern, creating silverware and sculptural jewellery that explore precision with craftsmanship. She creates pieces with meticulous care and detail spending hours with a compass and protractor before moving into metal.
Through traditional silversmithing processes including saw piercing, chisel engraving, and fabrication, Isabella creates intricate geometric patterns across both two- and three-dimensional forms. Through these labour-intensive, repetitive techniques, she transforms flat sheet metal into silverware, decorative artwork and jewellery.
Isabella Anne Kelley's practice explores the relationship between architecture, geometry, and historical pattern through contemporary silverware and jewellery. Her work is driven by a fascination with the logic of pattern and the rhythm of making, where mathematical thinking meets traditional silversmithing techniques.
Each piece begins with careful planning, often spending hours working with a compass and protractor to develop precise geometric constructions before moving into metal. This approach forms the foundation of her practice, allowing complex patterns and structures to emerge through meticulous design and craftsmanship.
Using traditional silversmithing processes including saw piercing, chisel engraving, and fabrication, Isabella transforms flat sheet silver into silverware, decorative objects, and jewellery. These labour-intensive, repetitive techniques are integral to her work, with the physical act of making becoming a pattern in itself. The rhythm of these processes reflects the geometric order that underpins her designs.
