Inna Monastyrna is the artist behind Jam Inc Jewelry, Tel Aviv.
Inna Monastyrna was born in 1989 in Mariupol, Ukraine. From 2007 to 2009 she studied graphic design in the Donetsk College of Fine Arts. Inna received an Open Society Institute scholarship in 2009 and spent a year as a student at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. At Slippery Rock she studied studio arts, gaining experience with sculpture, ceramics, painting and photography. Inna continued creating sculptures after returning to Ukraine and began working with jewellery.
From 2011 to 2013, Inna enrolled at Kyiv Silversmith College and worked as an apprentice at Viktor Bagley Art Jewelry studio, Kyiv. During this time, she founded Jam Inc Jewelry and began selling her own designs.
Inna moved to Israel in 2016, working as an intern at Kachol Jewelry Studio in Haifa. Later that year, she started an internship at Studio Baladi, Tel Aviv. In 2018, Inna interned with Tanel Veenre in Tallinn, Estonia.
Inna is strongly influenced by nature and archaeology, and she is drawn to artefacts of all forms. In her work, artefacts are pulled from the ground, the sky, and from the everyday. Whether an insect, a t-shirt, a match, or a planet, she transforms each object, articulating its qualities and asserting its existence.
