Solitude is a recurring motif in her work and really speaks to her fascination with imagination and a strong tendency to delve into escapism.

Gina recently worked on a collection of illustrations for the poetry book, All the Things I Never Said, by writer, Jennie Louise. The poetry collection explores themes of mental health, love, loss and growth.

Gina Stavrou aka mindofbean, is a queer British illustrator based in Savannah, GA. She has a BA in Film and is currently undertaking a BFA in Illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work uses vibrant colour combinations and little details to portray magical little worlds with whimsical characters.

ARTIST STATEMENT:
I find a lot of joy and freedom in my work through experimentation and following random but intuitive ideas and concepts. I am very drawn to and inspired by weird and strange imagery that incites a reaction of curiosity or exploration.

I mainly work with digital mediums because you can achieve a really rich and vibrant colour palette with a sense of illumination and light. I am constantly attracted to drawing people, all types of people, celebrating their individualities with an array of colour.
