”AMALGAM”
Erika Buzzo is an Italian Creative AI Director and visual storyteller, founder of BE AI Studio. Her practice sits between artistic direction, AI-generated imagery, and strategic thinking, exploring identity and perception in automated visual culture. Working from Morocco sharpens her attention to whose aesthetics AI defaults to, and whose it erases. Her work resists speed: concept precedes tool, meaning builds in layers. Digital Integrity, her series on algorithmic identity erosion, is exhibited internationally and published in CreAItiva Vol. 9. Her AI music project MAIA won Bronze at the AI Design Awards 2025. For AMALGAM, she presents an editorial jewellery series with the colours of Morocco, translating restraint into wearable form.
Metal grows like an organism, holding stone within structures that belong to both the natural and the artificial. That tension is where this work begins.
We are layered too. Every experience leaves a trace that adds to what came before, not replacing it. Identity is the result of everything that settles within us.
I choose materials that already carry their own histories: coral accumulating matter, skin holding time, metal changing shape without losing its nature. AI is another such material, a language brought into relation rather than fixed as a symbol.
For AMALGAM, this takes form in AI-generated jewellery, its colours drawn from Morocco, where I live. My process works through reduction, so what remains can hold layers of meaning, until it becomes part of who we are.
