ELS OP DE BEECK
Cluster Contemporary Jewellery
”The Living Trace”
Els Op De Beeck creates hand-crafted jewellery that combines a bold and dramatic aesthetic with a thoughtful approach to material.
After two decades working in law and law enforcement, the Belgian-born artist shifted her focus to jewellery-making from a deep desire to think, create and share.
Her practice is rooted in technical skill and conceptual exploration, often using electroforming to transform overlooked objects into sculptural pieces. She primarily works with metal, drawn to its symbolic richness and its ability to hold strength, beauty, and mystery all at once.
She studied goldsmithing at the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana in Milan and continues to refine her craft through workshops and experimentation. Now based in northern Italy, Els works as an independent artist while completing her bachelor’s degree in Jewellery Design at IED Milano, merging formal study with intuitive craftsmanship.
“My work begins with a sense of wonder—about the world around me, its people, objects, and the stories they carry.
Each piece is shaped through a slow, intuitive process that allows space for transformation. This making is a quiet ritual, where form emerges gradually and each object becomes a vessel for reflection.” - Els Op De Beeck
“The work reveals itself only through making, intentionally leaving space for the unexpected. Form is discovered rather than imposed. I don’t begin with fixed outcomes; instead, I let the process guide me, embracing the unknown and the mysterious as part of the work’s voice.
I’m drawn to metal for its elemental origins and its poetic tension between permanence and change. Electroforming allows me to elevate what’s often overlooked—organic textures, everyday fragments—into something unexpected.
My jewellery is not just adornment, it’s a silent archive of thought, memory, and imagination.” - Els Op De Beeck
