Dongze Zheng is a 25-year-old jewelry artist from Xinjiang, China, whose work explores the delicate boundary between illusion, nature, and reality. Trained in painting since childhood, he developed a deep sensitivity to light, transparency, and reflection—natural elements that later became the essence of his jewelry language.

He graduated in 2022 from the Jewelry Design program at Gengdan Institute of Beijing University of Technology, where his graduation project supported students at Beijing Dandelion School, reflecting his belief that jewelry can connect emotion, empathy, and social meaning. After working as a designer at Mingfeng Jewelry Company, he continued to explore both contemporary and commercial jewelry design, bridging craftsmanship with conceptual thinking.

In 2025, Zheng completed his Master’s degree in Jewellery Design at Birmingham City University, focusing on creative expression and material experimentation. His current practice integrates mirrored acrylic, water, and gemstones to create interactive works that reveal hidden reflections only when touched by light or liquid. These transformations, echoing the rhythms of nature, symbolize the fragility of memory and the unseen beauty within everyday life.

Zheng views jewelry as a poetic space where nature, emotion, and craftsmanship converge—a vessel for reflection, renewal, and the traces of time.
