CLUSTER CRAFTS : “ANNEAL” EXHIBITOR
2026
ARTWORK FOR PURCHASE AVAILABLE SOON
Daphne Krinos is celebrated for her bold, architectural designs and handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces. Working in gold, silver, base metals and coloured gemstones, her practice is defined by a commitment to both materiality and form.
Originally from Greece, Krinos established her London studio in the early 1980s. Since then, her distinctive work has attracted a devoted and wide-ranging following, including collectors as well as artists, architects and professionals. Her jewellery is held in major permanent collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Goldsmiths’ Company and the Crafts Council, among others. Her work appears in many books and she has exhibited widely worldwide
Daphne’s sculptural pieces are instantly recognisable for their dynamic interplay of colour, structure and texture. Striking contrasts—such as graphic lines of black oxidised silver set against vivid, translucent gemstones—are paired with layered or articulated compositions that explore angular, geometric forms across mixed metals. A sense of play and experimentation runs throughout her work, with each piece reflecting an ongoing exploration of process and a distinctive creative voice.
Daphne's work is distinguished by a strong graphic quality and a predominantly geometric style. Drawing inspiration from the urban environment, the natural world, and the vibrant colours of Greece, where she grew up, her designs merge elements of architecture and nature into unified compositions.
Rooted in traditional handcraftsmanship, her practice emphasises meticulous making, while also embracing contemporary techniques such as 3D printing and laser welding. She creates versatile pieces designed for multiple ways of wearing.
Maintaining a deliberately small-scale practice, she produces primarily one-of-a-kind works alongside occasional limited-edition silver collections at more accessible price points. She considers her practice within the field of art jewellery, continually evolving while maintaining a distinctive visual language.
