DANIEL VALENCIA FERRÁ

“CODE&CRAFT”
2025

Daniel Valencia Ferrá is a Spanish craftsperson who became a product designer in Berlin, where he has lived since 2008. From an early age, he shaped materials into artefacts, inspired by a family where passion and meticulous attention to detail were central. Drawing on this heritage, Daniel founded his own studio, Digital Craft DVF, where he combines 3D modeling software and self-customized 3D printers to create ceramic artefacts and functional products. Driven by a desire to explore new morphological methods and processes, his work reflects a quest to shape objects not seen before.

Today, Daniel and Digital Craft DVF are recognized pioneers in Berlin’s 3D-printed ceramics scene. His intuitive understanding of human needs and ability to realize vision have formed meaningful collaborations and established him as a trusted consultant and visionary in the industry. Beyond his studio, Daniel has participated in a symposium of experts during Madrid Design Week and showcased his collections at London Design Fair 2023 and Milan Design Week 2025. His work was also honored by the jury of the Landespreis Gestaltendes Handwerk 2022, cementing his role in Berlin’s contemporary design landscape.

My practice investigates the spaces between binaries, where complexity and diversity flourish beyond rigid categories. Instead of positioning identity, material, or form at fixed extremes, I explore the layered spectrum that emerge when opposites overlap and interact.

Working with computational tools, additive processes such as 3D printing, and ceramic materials, I integrate large amounts of data into form-making. This approach challenges not only the gender binary of masculine and feminine, but also broader dichotomies—north/south, right/left, blue/red. I consider the future inherently post-binary: a dynamic field where polarities coexist, intersect, and generate an expanded range of possibilities.

My work emphasizes the productive tension in blurred distinctions. When opposing concepts intertwine, they create forms that are simultaneously distinct and cohesive—producing a resonance that is at once harmonic, noisy, and glitchy. Through these hybrid outcomes, I invite viewers to recognize abundance within ambiguity and to imagine new modes of coexistence.

Ultimately, my artistic practice reflects the fluidity of identity and existence. By dismantling rigid divisions, I aim to cultivate a space where multidiversity is not merely acknowledged but embraced as the foundation of collective and creative potential.” - DANIEL VALENCIA FERRA
