DAN MAUZ
10 YEARS CLUSTER CRAFTS “MATERIAL MEMORY”
2026
Dan Mauz (b. 1991, Rome) is a London-based conceptual artist.
Working through a symbolic visual language, Dan develops artworks that examine questions surrounding the human condition.
Rather than being defined by a specific medium, his practice is driven by ideas, with each work determining its own form and method of execution.
Central to his approach is the belief that visual art should communicate independently, without reliance on textual or verbal explanation - the artist's intention unequivocal.
Through carefully constructed symbolic systems, his works invite contemplation on complex yet clear concepts, proposing what he describes as a form of visual philosophy.
Dan’s passion for furniture and interior design emerged organically and has coexisted alongside his artistic practice since 2016. Under the name DandyDSGN, he collects, buys, and sells vintage high end mid-century modern furniture, with a particular focus on iconic and unique sculptural pieces. This year marks a decade of his engagement with the world of design.
From time to time, these two spheres of his practice - art and design - intersect, giving rise to a body of conceptual furniture that occupies a space between functional object and artwork. The prototype chairs presented in this edition of Cluster are an example of this ongoing dialogue.
