Roberta Piovani, the creator of Crisalide, grew up in a world where hands spoke louder than words.
In her family, art was not something to observe, but something to live: the rhythm of scissors through fabric, the precision of a needle, the quiet poetry of colours on a palette.
Surrounded by generations of tailors and an artist father, she learned a language of patience, attention, and respect for what is created by hand.
Life eventually led her to intensive care, a world where every second mattered and every gesture could change the course of a life.
For fifteen years, standing at the fragile boundary between vulnerability and resilience, she discovered another form of precision — one not measured in lines or proportions, but in presence, silence, and the profound essence of what truly matters.
Then came a life in motion: a journey woven through countries, cultures, and languages — from Italy to Laos, from Germany to Sweden, until Greece became home. With every crossing, she gathered fragments of new worlds.
Along this path, she became the mother of Bianca and Santiago, and motherhood transformed her relationship with time, teaching her to see beauty in pauses, in gestures, and in the quiet spaces between moments.
Through all these transformations, the memory of hands remained — a silent thread connecting every chapter of her life. It guided her back to creation, and to porcelain: a material born from earth and fire, fragile yet enduring, one that reveals its beauty only through patience, presence, and attentive listening.
