CLUSTER AT TEN: NEW PARTNERSHIPS, NEW DIRECTIONS
As Cluster marks ten years of activity, this anniversary exhibition at Roca London Gallery reflects both a milestone and a transition point for the platform. Over the past decade, Cluster has developed through exhibitions, fairs, residencies, and collaborations that have brought together international artists across contemporary craft and design. This programme looks back at that journey while also introducing the next phase of Cluster’s development — one increasingly focused on interdisciplinary formats, long-term partnerships, and expanded creative dialogue across mediums.
This edition also introduces several new collaborations that reflect Cluster’s evolving direction. Cluster is pleased to announce its partnership with Land Art Agency & Collective, an international platform supporting creative practices connected to the natural world. Founded in 2020, Land Art develops programmes centred on ecological thinking, material awareness, and interdisciplinary exchange. The partnership extends beyond the anniversary exhibition and opens future collaborations across Cluster’s wider initiatives, supporting conversations around responsible production and material-led practices.
The wider programme continues on 5 June with Flow Interrupted, a live prepared piano performance by composer and pianist Teodor Doré, presented as part of the Renaissance-21 movement. Produced by Viktoria Pakhomova and curated by Alisa Lisovskaia, the work explores environmental instability through sound, transforming the piano into a changing material system disrupted by synthetic and industrial elements.
Hosted in partnership with Roca, whose continued support has made the exhibition possible, the programme brings together artists, designers, curators, and cultural practitioners through a series of exhibitions, talks, and live events. The collaboration with Roca London Gallery also signals Cluster’s growing interest in working within spaces that encourage exchange between design, architecture, craft, and public engagement.
The exhibition itself presents a curated selection of contemporary craft practices, bringing together both established and emerging voices. Highlighted artists include Tessa Eastman, Toni Losey, Gareth Neal, Peter Marigold, and Kuniko Maeda, alongside a wider international group of practitioners whose works explore materiality, process, sustainability, and experimentation across disciplines.
Another key collaboration comes through Renaissance-21, led by curator and producer Alisa Lisovskaia, whose support has contributed to the exhibition programming and the development of new cultural partnerships. As part of this collaboration, the programme expands beyond exhibition-making into performance and experimental formats.
On 27 May, the exhibition will host GROUNDED IN MATERIAL – A Discussion on Materials and Responsible Production in Crafts and Design, organised by Cluster’s new curator Giulia Meacci. Moderated by Gilda Bruno, the conversation brings together Gareth Neal, Peter Marigold, and Sarah Myerscough to discuss materials, sustainability, and approaches to responsible production within contemporary craft and design.
Together, the exhibition and public programme reflect a broader shift within Cluster: from a platform primarily focused on exhibition formats towards a more interconnected structure that supports dialogue across craft, design, performance, research, and material practice. Ten years in, this programme is not positioned as a conclusion, but as a foundation for the next stage of growth.
