Narcissus | 2021

Based in London, I am a portrait and fashion photographer. I have recently won an International Photography Award (IPA) for my self-portrait series and have been commissioned for various artist’s album covers, including JONES EP 'Around'. My photography has also been published in both VOGUE ItaliaNOTION magazine, TMRW MAG and 1883 Magazine. I have also had a recent solo exhibition at Blaze Image and another with VICE at Photobook Cafe. I am exhibiting with CLUSTER at the OXO Tower in March and have been selected for the RANKIN exhibition in April.

Lolita | 2021

I offer an alternative viewpoint into the moments of everyday life, primarily using my old but gold 120mm Mamiya film camera. My images are cinematic and dreamlike, yet grounded in reality. My devotion to film reflects the physicality and tangibility of my subjects which cut through today’s flat screen based digital world. I continue to find film a magical process allowing me to slow down, along with everyone else involved in my shoots, and compose each scene to its maximum potential.

In my first and third images, I wanted to make a comment on my British heritage with a twist. I followed a similar type of painterly lighting as well as referencing the classical painting Narcissus by focusing on the subject’s reflection in the mirror. From a far this costume appears to resemble that of Shakespearian dress, yet the pieces are in fact from modern fashion designers who focus on pushing form and gender boundaries. In the second ‘Lolita’ also plays on ideas of reflections and being in the spotlight. In the fourth image I intended to continue the narcissistic theme with the adorned outfit, flower crown and powerful Statue of Liberty pose. In the last 2 images I wanted to explore the idea of obscurity through the use of lighting and props.
