Hand built stoneware vessel, unglazed

Tall and commanding yet fluid in form, Up - Wave III rises from a wide, grounded base through a gently swelling body before drawing inward toward an oval rim. The movement is deliberate — an upward journey contained within a single form.

Made from high molochite content white stoneware clay, the vessel is hand built using flat coils and the Japanese tataki technique — a slow, meditative process of shaping through rhythmic tapping that gives the walls their quiet integrity.

The surface holds a quiet complexity — layer upon layer of thin, stretched clay worked into the form, evoking the movement of water.

Left entirely unglazed, the raw white surface invites touch and rewards close looking.
