Lopsided dining table by Anna Van Eck
Lopsided dining table by Anna Van Eck
Having lost it’s original function the dining table transforms into a sculpture that is questioning the importance of stability of everyday life. The alienation encourages for a real examination of the object and invites to reflect comfort zones. It intends to be a metaphor for unpredictable situations that need to be cared about by society. The four legs of a conventional table have been replaced in order to call for attention. While sitting at the table the legs of the two persons are becoming part of the construction and stabilise the table again - a new dining experience that invites to rethink the usual.
