Catalina Parra is Spanish a LG(TB) illustrator based in Barcelona.
She graduated (BA) in Fine Arts
at the University of Barcelona, then earned a Masters degree (MA)
in Illustration & Comic at ELISAVA School of Design and Engineering.
She specialises in editorial illustration working for various newspapers, magazines and publishing houses. She has also collaborated with Netflix, Barcelona City Council and others in numerous campaigns.
She's a strong advocate for LGBT and women's rights, and frequently collaborates with brands and associations to promote diversity and equality.
Catalina’s work is known for its bold graphic shapes and for her use of the negative space & limited colour palettes. She usually explores themes of femininity, equality & nature amongst others
Inspired by artists like René Gruau, Catalina uses the technique and canvas as elements of the illustration itself. Even applying her experience in paper folding to create interactive pieces.
