ARIADNE KAPELIOTI
“CODE&CRAFT” - ENCODED BODIES
2025
Born in Greece, Ariadne Kapelioti is a jewellery designer trained as a physicist, metalsmith, and architect. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Master of Advanced Design in Architecture from Aristotle University, and completed jewellery design and fashion contextual studies at London College of Fashion, Central Saint Martins, and Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design.
Driven by a passion for the creative process, Ariadne has pursued extensive research into jewellery construction, shaping a bold, multidisciplinary design philosophy. With a foundation in physics before turning to fashion and jewellery, she pioneered the first Greek jewellery brand to integrate advanced 3D printing technology, reflecting her commitment to sustainability and innovation.
Since 2012, her work has been featured in gallery shops and concept stores in Greece and abroad, as well as in a variety of print and digital media. She has showcased at leading art exhibitions and design fairs, including Open Design Italia 2015, Artistar Jewels 2019, A Jewel Made in Greece 2020, and MUESTRA Madrid 2023. Her “Future” collection received the prestigious 2017 A’ Design Award in the Jewellery, Eyewear & Watch Design category, and her creations are featured in Nicolás Estrada’s books “New Brooches” and “New Earrings”. Previously recognised as SUPERLORA, Ariadne established her eponymous label in 2021.
“My jewellery is a miniature architecture of hope ; where material, form, and imagination meet to inspire connection, wonder, and a sustainable tomorrow.”
ARTIST STATEMENT
My work arises from a fascination with transformation; of materials, ideas, and processes. Trained in physics, architecture, and metalsmithing, I approach jewellery as both experiment and language, a place where scientific precision meets poetic intuition. I am drawn to uncovering how technology and handcraft can coexist, allowing form to emerge at the threshold between the tangible and the imagined.
Central to my practice is an exploration of construction: how a piece of jewellery is not only worn, but how it inhabits space, interacts with the body, and reshapes identity. Research and experimentation are essential; I use advanced 3D printing technologies alongside traditional techniques to challenge conventions of adornment and to propose new ways of seeing jewellery as architecture in miniature.
Sustainability underpins this approach. By rethinking material use and production methods, I aim to create pieces that resonate beyond decoration - objects that reflect innovation while honouring responsibility toward our shared environment.
Ultimately, my jewellery seeks to generate dialogue: between tradition and future, science and art, permanence and change. Each piece is both structure and story, inviting the wearer to experience design as an evolving connection between self, object, and world.
ARTWORK STATEMENT / “PHAOS” COLLECTION
“Phaos” (<φάος/φως>), the ancient Greek word for light, is a collection inspired by light’s dual role as a force of nature and a symbol of progress. Created through 3D laser printing - using light itself - “Phaos” jewellery collection embodies the fusion of science, form, and meaning.
Rooted in the concepts of eternity and optimism, each piece pays tribute to the pioneers who illuminate new paths with vision and determination. Crafted consciously from sustainable materials, “Phaos” is jewellery that reflects the power of light to shape the future.
