Alexandra is a glass artist from Hungary, but she lives in Ireland. She found the Szimultán Art School of Budapest in 2011, where she spent the next two and a half years and where she fell in love with glass itself. She was accepted into the Glass Design faculty of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design of Budapest, where she graduated in 2017. During her studies, she focused on glass blowing technique and has worked as a glass blowing assistant in the J&B Glass Studio from 2012 to 2016. She is currently sculpting and making glass necklaces in her own small workshop in Dublin.

Sweet Home | 2022

During her studies, she was interested in mixing the details of different textiles with glass and she has continued this interest in her current works. She is mainly using casting technique and using the knitted, crochet designs created by her grandmother, which makes the creation of these works even more special and enjoyable for her. She is not using duplicate moulds; thus all her works are completely unique and each piece is carefully sanded and polished by hand. Her works are inspired by locations close to nature from her childhood, by memories of a house providing safety and by her inner child.

For me glass is like a miracle in which I can immerse myself and marvel at again and again every day. In my works I aim to convey this wonder by utilising various techniques, including the way the tiny details play with the light.
