ABUKU
“FORMS OF REVERENCE”
2026
Harri Cornes is an Essex-based designer and the founder of Abuku, a 3D printed lighting brand inspired by her nostalgia for her time spent living in Japan. Her work combines modern, cutting-edge technology with timeless, iconic symbols of Japanese culture.
With a background in graphic and digital design, Harri creates charming, experimental objects through Abuku, with a goal of creating pieces that transform the atmosphere of a space through light, form and pattern. Using the medium of 3D printing, she executes Japan-inspired concepts with a minimal approach while exploring how this format can be used to produce thoughtful, eco-conscious pieces for everyday living.
Abuku is a contemporary lighting brand that uses 3D printing to create pieces that reimagine Japan’s cultural icons, evoking feelings of nostalgia in those with either a connection to, or an appreciation for the country. Reflecting the quiet minimalism often found in Japanese design, each piece is designed to add warmth, calm and a subtle whimsical touch to everyday spaces.
