Yakutia by Maria Boytunova

£2,400.00

Yakutia (my homeland) is a huge region in Siberian North. People there used to wear metal "snow glasses", mine diamonds and believe that Aal luuk Mas, the World Tree, connects everything. The dark and bright sides of the “lenses” represent the worlds of demons and gods in Yakutian mythology. Belief in those worlds exist in most of the indigenous tribal cultures too.

Sterling silver, cubic zirconia
15x6 cm

2020 / one of a kind piece
